Um filho natural de Bloomington, Illinois, Steve foi soprando harpa em torno de área central de Illinois desde 1972.
Steve "The Harp" é um Blues Man de casa, sua carreira toda foi em torno de onde viveu e vive até hoje. Embaixador da Harmonica,Instrutor com mais de 30 anos de experiência.
Suas influências não poderiam ser os mestres, Howlin Wolf, Little Walter, Paul Butterfield, James Cotton, Rice Miller, Gary Smith, Rick Estrin.
